An essential part of website design is the analysis and restructuring of content. This was a particularly interesting (and challenging!) task for us with the Great St Mary’s website as there were four different spheres and an over-arching ministry to consider. Each one required its own Content Management System, logins and editors, so effectively we were designing five websites in one.
We reorganised the mass of information so that it was logical and consistent across the spheres. We made the links clear and intuitive. Once this Information Architecture was agreed, we designed the ministry (landing) page page and the four linked websites; all were tied together with common design elements and layout so that, to the visitor, it now seems like one coherent whole.
